Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) teams detonated a WWII bomb which was discovered in a garden in Devon yesterday (May 27).
A Royal Navy team from the Diving & Threat Exploitation Group (DTXG) responded to assist police following the discovery in Colaton Raleigh in Sidmouth. The item was described as a one kilo German Incendiary, which were designed to ignite fires instead of cause damage by exploding. The device was moved to a safe distance and destroyed by demolition.
