UK: ‘Wartime bomb’ discovered near Birmingham New Street line


Train services heading out of Birmingham have been disrupted following the discovery of a ‘wartime bomb’ near the railway, impacting CrossCountry services, according to traffic monitoring service Inrix.

West Midlands Police has confirmed that an old mortar device has been found at Duddeston Mill Trading Estate in Washwood Heath. An evacuation has been carried out, with a 100-metre exclusion zone set-up and the bomb disposal unit sent to the scene.
