UK: Further bomb squad call-out to housing development in Shrewsbury


Police have again closed a building site in Shrewsbury after more suspected unexploded ordnance was found.

It is believed to be the fifth time bomb disposal experts have been called to the development where new homes are being built.

A 100m cordon was put up around the scene on Copthorne Road and West Mercia Police urged people to avoid the area. A controlled explosion was carried out, with the cordon removed by 15:00 BST, the force said.
