A bomb disposal team has carried out a controlled explosion after a suspicious device was found along a Surrey road. Whyteleafe Hill was closed on Tuesday (August 12) after an unexploded device was discovered at a building site.
Officers were called at around 3.10pm and remained on site for several hours along with colleagues from Surrey Fire and Rescue Service. During this time, the road was closed in both directions and motorists were urged to seek an alternative route.
