The Governor of Oddar Meanchey Province, Mean Chanyada, has praised officers of the Cambodian Mine Action Centre (CMAC) as heroes who help secure safe living spaces for the public.
To encourage and recognise their significant sacrifices in serving the nation, Governor Chanyada met and held a courtesy discussion with members of CMAC Unit 1, who are actively deployed across the province, on Wednesday. According to Net Ratha, head of CMAC operations in Oddar Meanchey, surveys and hazard-marking activities were conducted in 145 war-affected villages. The work resulted in 824 locations, which were all identified and marked, comprising 57 surface explosives, 64 buried explosives, and 703 blast craters.
