Cambodia: CMAA receives $1 million aid from China for demining efforts

China’s Foreign Affairs Assistant Minister Wu Jianghao signed an agreement with Cambodian Mine Action and Victim Assistance Authority (CMAA) vice-president Ly Thuch to provide equipment worth about $1 million.

Thuch said he hopes that this significant assistance will increase the effectiveness of mine and explosive remnants of war (ERW) clearance in the humanitarian task toward a landmine-free Cambodia by 2025.

The donation will include 130 pieces of demining equipment; 110 demining equipment kits; 70 ERW kits; 25 pieces of safety equipment; 25 safety helmets; three drones; five SUVs; and eight pickup trucks.
