Russia: FSB prevents terrorist attack in Nizhni Tagil, arrests plotter

The Sverdlovsk Region’s branch of the federal security service FSB has prevented a terrorist attack in an administrative building in Nizhny Tagil.

“The Sverdlovsk Region’s branch of the FSB has prevented a terrorist attack in an administrative building in Nizhny Tagil. As a result of a special operation, a 59-year-old local resident, a citizen of Russia, who arrived in the Sverdlovsk Region from Ukraine in 2014, was exposed and detained. The plotter was remanded in custody,” the FSB’s press-service said.

The FSB is investigating a criminal case opened over preparations for a terrorist attack and attempted illegal making of explosives.
