An explosion from an improvised explosive device (IED) caused damage to a patrol car early Thursday morning, according to the Beaverton Police Department.
At about 2 a.m., a Beaverton patrol officer was responding to a disturbance in north Beaverton. While driving along 158th Avenue, police say the officer saw a flash and heard an explosion, which damaged the passenger window of his patrol car and the door. The officer suffered minor injuries.
