Explosive threat in La Junta, Colo. confirmed, arrest made


Authorities evacuated a three-block radius in La Junta Thursday for a suspicious device. Fire Chief Aaron Eveatt, assisting the police department with information, announced 42-year-old Robert Nolan was arrested in the incident.

The fire chief with the La Junta Fire Department said the Pueblo Metro Bomb Squad were called in at about 3:15 p.m. Authorities blocked off an area from 5th to 6th Streets and from Gardner to Barnes.

It all stemmed from a search warrant at about 9 that morning. Authorities couldn’t confirm if anyone was in custody, what the warrant was for, or if an arrest was made.
