Nigeria: IED explosion, Rivers Government confirms detention of suspect


The Rivers Government has confirmed the detention of an unidentified man, suspected of detonating an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) near Hotel Presidential in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, is currently under custody.

Earlier, the Commissioner of Police in Rivers, Mr Olatunji Disu, told newsmen that the command had received information about four individuals who parked a white Corolla vehicle on Aba Road and detonated an IED. He said that two of the suspects sustained severe injuries and fled the scene after the explosion.
