UK: Surrey Police remains in Redhill following controlled explosion


A controlled explosion of “unidentified materials” was carried out in a residential area of Redhill following the arrest of a teenage boy.

A large presence of emergency services was in Spencer Way from around 3.25pm on Thursday (June 11) and police remain at the scene on Friday (June 12).

A 16-year-old boy was arrested on Wednesday (May 27) on suspicion of multiple offences after reports of a teenager being seen carrying a knife in the area.

However, subsequent enquires led to a bomb disposal unit having to be called to the area to carry out a controlled explosion.
