UK: Bomb squad complete ‘controlled explosion’ of ‘WW2 shell’ in Watford


A bomb squad carried out the controlled detonation of a suspected WW2 shell in a Watford park. Herts Police officers put a cordon up around King George V Playing Field, off High View, this morning (September 16).

The force have confirmed they assisted the explosive ordinance disposal (EOD) unit by ensuring the safety of the public as the wartime projectile, believed to date from the Second World War, was exploded.
