A bomb squad has been called to Linwood after an old ‘ordnance device’ was discovered. The incident was reported at around 9.05am this morning (Tuesday, September 24) when the device was found in an industrial estate near the Malcolm factory on Burnbrae Drive in the Renfrewshire town.
Workers were evacuated by emergency services with a cordon in place around the area. It is not yet clear which local business is affected. The Explosive Ordnance Department (EOD) and emergency services attended the incident. Police confirmed the item has now been safely removed.
