Officers have carried out a controlled explosion after suspicious items were found at a home. Essex Police said it had initially attended the property in Britten Avenue, Basildon, at 12:56 BST, for what it said were unrelated matters.
But the force said explosives and chemicals experts were called after antique-style collectables were discovered at the home.
