Somalia: Explosions target homes with CCTV, injure five In Mogadishu


At least five people, including children, were injured in a series of landmine explosions in Galmudug village, Garasbaley district, over the past two nights as the number of the people killed in such attacks are increasing. Witnesses said six explosives were strategically placed outside homes equipped with CCTV cameras.

No official comment has been made by either the Garasbaley district administration or Mogadishu security officials on the attacks. The blasts coincide with heightened fear and panic in Mogadishu sparked by a government initiative to install thousands of security cameras citywide aimed at monitoring al-Shabaab movements and enhancing public safety.
