Pittsburgh police search for vehicle after explosion in Lawrenceville

Authorities are searching for a white pickup truck after an explosion damaged a car Sunday night in Lawrenceville.

City police said an improvised explosive device detonated in the 3600 block of Penn Avenue shortly after 9 p.m.

A separate explosive-related incident that happened about 90 minutes later in the Hill District was likely caused by an “aerial firework,” according to a statement by the Department of Public Safety.

No one was injured in the Lawrenceville explosion, and police did not report any injuries or damages from the second incident.
