The special operations units of the Erie Police department now have a new home.

Friday, the city held a ribbon cutting and open house to show area police agencies, lawmakers and businesses the new building for the Erie Bomb Squad and SWAT teams.

They showed off some of the high-tech equipment they use on the dozens of calls they respond to each year, “Our goal is to mitigate any problems explosive wise, not just in Erie or Erie county, but the 14 counties that we cover as well,” said Erie Police Det.
