Oregon: Bomb squad remove 6 IED’s from Monmouth home; deputies arrest burglary suspects


Polk County Sheriff’s Office said deputies found six improvised explosive devices at a residence while arresting two burglary suspects Wednesday.

The sheriff’s office said deputies were investigating several burglaries and thefts that had occurred in southern Polk County. The investigation led them to 23811 Maxfield Creek Road in Monmouth.

While at the home, deputies found six IED’s and called in the Salem Police Department bomb squad to remove them. Investigators determined that five of the devices were viable pipe bombs and were capable of causing serious injury or death.
