Ohio: Improvised explosive devices found in Akron near railroad tracks


Authorities are investigating after two improvised explosive devices were found within a week of each other in Akron.

Both were found near railroad tracks and not too far from homeless encampments. Authorities said only one device was functional and they don’t know if the two are connected.

The most recent device was found at about noon Wednesday near the Freedom Trail near the 200 block of North Adams Street.
