Nigeria: One killed, seven injured in Zamfara IED explosion


Barely one month after a similar incident claimed six lives, a suspected improvised explosive device (IED) has exploded along the Anka-Bagega road in Zamfara, killing one person and injuring seven others.

The explosion occurred in the early hours of Tuesday when the device detonated on a commercial Golf-3 Wagon conveying passengers from Bagega village to Anka town.

A resident of Bagega, Mallam Abdul, told journalists that the vehicle was travelling along the route when the suspected explosive device went off.
