Residents living in and around Scio Township can expect to hear several loud explosions Thursday afternoon and should not be alarmed.
The FBI field office out of Detroit is hosting a training session on weapons of mass destruction and improvised explosive devices Thursday, May 20, in Scio Township west of Ann Arbor with part of the training being the detonation of several small explosive devices, according to an alert from the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office.
The training session, known as the Chemical Industry Outreach Workshop, is designed to show local business owners what to look for when the supplies within their business are materials that could be used to make improvised explosive devices.
