A major tragedy was averted in the state of Meghalaya, when police managed to locate and defuse an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in the Umsning market, in the Ri-Bhoi district, on the evening of 11th October.
At approximately 7.30 PM, the police were informed about a found bag with possible explosives inside an unknown unidentified in the market area . Ri-Bhoi police team. Acting swiftly on the tip-off, a Ri-Bhoi police team to raid the area, and found the suspicious bag in a compound opposite the Meghalaya Rural Bank.
