Maharashtra state: Police arrest 2, seize 69 crude bombs


The Kolhapur police have arrested two brothers and have seized 69 crude bombs from them in the Mudshingi village of Hatkanangle taluka. The police are questioning the suspects to check if they have any link with the explosion along the Pune-Bengaluru National Highway last week, in which a truck driver was killed.

The arrested men have been identified as Vilas Rajaram Jadhav (52) and Ananda Rajaram Jadhav, a 54-year-old resident of Male Mudshingi.

Superintendent of police Abhinav Deshmukh said, “The initial investigation into the explosion at Ujalaiwadi, along NH 4, revealed that the explosives found on the spot were used for wild boar hunting. Based on that, we started gathering information about people who are active in this area, and through our sources reached the Jadhav brothers.
