Greater Manchester: Residents in Farnworth evacuated from homes amid WW2 bomb scare

Residents have been evacuated from their homes after a suspected unexploded bomb was found in Farnworth.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: “At around 12.05pm today (Monday 10 February 2020) police were made aware of an item – possibly from World War Two – found in a garden on Bradford Road in Bolton.

“EOD are making their way to the scene to assess the item – a number of nearby addresses have been evacuated as a precaution and some road closures are in place in the local vicinity.

“Officers are advising the public to stay away from the area at this time.”
