On July 12, 2021, experts from the 4th Mine Action Center (CMAC) found another 80 unexploded ordnances – after finding 325 on July 10 – at a high school in Siem Reap. The bombs are all live and have a high risk.
An Sothea, head of the 4th Mine Action Unit in Siem Reap and Kampong Thom provinces, said the 405 grenades, made in the UK, could pose a danger to people if they were handled.
He said the bombs had been buried for years at a munitions depot in Siem Reap during the war in 1970s.
