Ukraine: In May, Ministry of Defence demining specialists cleared over 7,800 hectares of land


Throughout May 2025, mine clearance units of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine cleared 7,847 hectares of land of explosive ordnance in areas previously liberated from russian occupation. Specifically, during the month, the following was cleared:

  • 7,660.21 hectares of agricultural land;
  • 21.27 km of roadways;
  • 9.44 km of electric power lines;
  • 40.24 km of railways;
  • 5.94 km of pipelines;
  • 0.88 hectares of residential areas.

Throughout the month, sappers uncovered and neutralized 6,818 explosive devices. Since the onset of Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022, a total of 445,680 explosive items have been neutralized.
