A warning has been issued after a person found a suspected unexploded bomb in the river at Knaresborough and took it home.
After taking it back and contacting police yesterday afternoon (Monday), a 100m cordon was placed around the property while Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) attended to remove the object and safely deal with it.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said: “Thankfully the EOD were able to dispose of the object, and the incident was brought to a safe conclusion.
