Somalia: Seven Injured In Car Bombing Near Presidential Palace In Mogadishu

A car bomber has died and at least seven people wounded on Saturday after a vehicle loaded with explosives exploded in the capital Mogadishu.

security forces opened fire at the vehicle loaded with explosives at Sayidka junction in the vicinity of the presidential palace.

In a statement, Somali police spokesman Sadaq Adan Ali said seven people were injured and 8 vehicle and 9 autorickshaws destroyed in the attack

“A suicide car bomber tried to force himself at the checkpoint but the security forces fired at the vehicle after it failed to stop the vehicle and as a result, it exploded,” the statement from police spokesman Sadaq read.
