Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security Agency has said it arrested nine suspected Al-Shabaab members who were allegedly involved in planning attacks intended to be carried out in Mogadishu and surrounding areas.
The suspects had been operating covertly in the Garasbaaley and Kaxda districts and in neighbourhoods of Ceelasha Biyaha. Four of them were part of a connected network allegedly planning terrorist attacks targeting Somali civilians and seeking to disrupt security and stability in the capital.
