At least 17 people were killed and 2 others were injured on Wednesday after a civilian minibus traveling between Mogadishu-Jowhar road was hit by IED at the vicinity of Gololey, officials said.
”17 people were killed and 2 others were wounded after a public transport minibus traveling between Mogadishu-Jowhar road was hit by an IED near Gololey area” Colonel Abshir Mohamed Mohamud, Commander of the 3rd Battalion, 27th Division of the Somali National Army told the State run radio Mogadishu in an interview.
However, the attack follows only days after Somalia government announced the maintenance and rehabilitation of the Mogadishu – Jowhar road, a move widely welcomed by the Somali public transport drivers.
