Queensland: Man suffers shrapnel injuries as ‘homemade bomb’ explodes in yard


A man has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after an improvised bomb exploded in the front yard of a Queensland home.

The explosion happened about 5.30pm on Thursday at Jacaranda Avenue in Kingston, south of Brisbane, when the man moved a bucket in the yard, police said.

Residents in the area were evacuated after an emergency declaration was declared, but it has since been revoked.
