Pipe bomb explodes in front garden in Derry – PSNI


A pipe bomb exploded in the front garden of a home in Derry in the early hours of this Sunday morning, the PSNI has said.

Detectives in Strand Road are appealing for information on the incident, which was reported at about 2am.

The bomb exploded in the front garden of a home in the Montgomery Close area.

No damage was done to the property and there were no injuries.

Detective Sergeant Richard Donnell said: “At approximately 2am this morning, Sunday 31st March, police received a report that a device in the form of a pipe bomb had exploded in the front garden of a residential property in Montgomery Close.
