Philippines: 2 soldiers, 1 NPA rebel killed in Sorsogon


A female communist rebel and two soldiers were killed in a fierce battle in a remote village of Daganas, Bulan town in Sorsogon province.

Killed in the clash between the military and communist guerillas were PFC Greyan Andus and Corp. Arnel Divinagracia of the Army’s 22nd Infantry Battalion and an unidentified woman fighter for the New People’s Army (NPA) group on July 30, a police report here said.

Recovered from the fight scene were an improvised explosive device and one M60 submachine gun, the police report said.
