A 35-year-old man is in custody after an incident that involved the bomb squad, hazmat unit, police K-9s and an investigation that stretched from Sunday afternoon into the overnight hours in Philadelphia’s Mayfair section.
Police responded to the 4200 block of Cottman Avenue around 1:20 p.m. Sunday after receiving a 911 call reporting the sound of gunshots coming from inside a home. When police arrived, they located the man inside the residence, as well as multiple firearms. Officers also noticed large jugs filled with a liquid chemical, narcotics, as well as drug paraphernalia.
