Pennsylvania: 14 explosives discovered prompt emergency evacuation in Lebanon County community


More than a dozen explosives were seized from a Lebanon County home Tuesday, leading to an evacuation order for the community, according to the District Attorney’s Office.

Timothy Sheaffer Jr., 40, of Columbia, was charged with weapons of mass destruction, risking catastrophe and recklessly endangering another person, online court records show. Law enforcement was notified by a woman about a safe inside a home along Central Drive in Newmanstown that had homemade explosives inside it. She also provided a “remote firing system/device” as well.
