Police and other law-enforcement agencies defused six improvised explosive devices and detained 14 suspected individuals during a search and combing operation in different parts of Miryan tehsil in Bannu, according to a press release issued by Bannu police.
The statement said personnel from police, the Elite Force, the Quick Response Force, the bomb disposal unit and the Counter-Terrorism Department took part in the operation. Two Kalashnikovs, one repeater shotgun, four rifles, ammunition and eight motorcycles were seized.
According to the police release, bomb disposal unit experts neutralised six IEDs containing 120 kilogrammes of explosives in the Mambati Barakzai and Khanikhel areas.
