The Explosive Ordonance Disposal (EOD) experts and K-9 teams regularly carry out joint training as part of the maintenance of their know-how.
Several times a week, the K-9 teams and the EODs train in the search for and detection of explosive devices, according to realistic scenarios such as route proofing, building verification or vehicle inspection entering the BAP.
The dogs, trained to assist in the search for and detection of explosives, carry out work that complements that of the EOD team. Indeed, thanks to its olfactory capacity, the dog quickly identifies the area of intervention and facilitates the action of the EOD team. In the event of actual detection, the two units would intervene jointly.
