The Lagos State Police Command’s Anti-Bomb Squad has deactivated an Improvised Explosive Device in the Ikeja area of the state.
He said a vigilant police officer reported that a young man had alighted from a car and dropped a bag by the side of the Nigeria Customs Service Federal Operations Unit’s fence, after which he returned to the vehicle and sped off. Hundeyin said the area was immediately cordoned off while IED experts were deployed to the spot, noting that the IED was taken to a safe distance where it was deactivated around 4 pm.
