Nigeria: IED blast kills driver, motorcyclist in Niger


A yet-to-be-identified driver was killed on Sunday when his yam-laden vehicle struck an improvised explosive device (IED) on the Lumma-Babanna road in Borgu Local Government Area.

The incident occurred around 2 p.m. on an alternative route that drivers have used since suspected terrorists destroyed the main bridge linking Lumma-Babanna to the Benin Republic. According to the Niger State Police Command, the attackers also shot and killed a motorcyclist at the same location after setting the IED.
