Nevada: Traffic stop leads to arrest after explosive device discovered in vehicle


A man was arrested after a traffic stop led to the discovery of an explosive device on Thursday night, according to the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities say that during the stop on April 30, deputies made contact with a driver identified as 36-year-old Kenneth Francis. He reportedly had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear and was found to be in possession of brass knuckles. An explosive device was also discovered inside his vehicle. Members of the regional Consolidated Bomb Squad responded to the scene, safely recovered the device, and rendered it safe.
