Michigan: Man accused of placing explosives in trash cans at Port Huron hospital


A 59-year-old man has been charged with placing explosives inside three trash cans at a Port Huron hospital.

Michael Patrick Barna, of Clyde Township, was arraigned Sunday, Nov. 8 in 72nd District Court in Port Huron on the following charges: explosives violation – vulnerable target (health facility), a 20-year felony; and explosive violation – sending with intent to fright, a five-year felony.

A Port Huron Police Department news release states three incendiary devices went off inside trash cans around 3:45 p.m. Nov. 4 inside McLaren Port Huron hospital, 1221 Pine Grove Ave.
