A second unexploded World War II (WW2) bomb was detonated by the Bomb Disposal Unit (BDU) near Lok Kawi Plastic Industries, at 3pm, Sunday. District Police Chief Supt Kamaruddin Ambo Sakka said the five-hour operation involving various agencies started at 10am.
“Traffic was also controlled to avoid unwanted incidents. At about 11.55am, the first detonation was carried out to defuse the bomb with the second detonation at 1.25pm before proceeding with a third to complete the process,” he said.
