Britain’s leading bomb disposal expert Major Chris Hunter is selling his prized SAS ring to help the needy. The war hero is auctioning the 9ct gold collectors’ item to help pay for a Royal British Legion foodbank operation.
Maj Hunter, 47, and his team of fellow veterans launched the service during the lockdown. He said: “I am selling off the ring because I believe possessions aren’t everything. It’s the memories that count every time.
“The pandemic has left many people isolated and vulnerable. And the knock-on effects will leave an awful lot of people short of food and other supplies.
