Jammu and Kashmir: IED found on Srinagar-Baramulla highway


The Army on Monday averted a major terror incident after an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was recovered on the Srinagar- Baramulla national highway. Srinagar-based Chinar Corps said on Monday that IED was recovered and diffused at National Highway-1.

Officials said a joint patrolling party of police and Army found a suspicious object by the roadside on the highway at Palhallan in Pattan area of Baramulla district. The area was cordoned off and the traffic was halted temporarily on the National Highway as a precautionary measure.
