Ireland: ‘Viable explosive device’ in Galway made safe


An unexplained device discovered in Tuam this morning has been made safe by the Army EOD team.

The team from Athlone have since left the scene and removed what has been deemed to be a viable explosive device from the location.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity of Millstream Park or Weir Road in Tuam last night up until 8.30am this morning and who may have information to make contact with them at Tuam Garda Station on (093) 70840.
