Two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans of the elite CoBRA battalion were seriously injured in separate improvised explosive device (IED) blasts inside the Saranda forest in Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum district on Sunday.
The incident took place during an anti-Maoist search operation in the Baliba forest area under the Chotanagra police station limits, a region considered a Maoist stronghold. Police said Maoists planted the IEDs to target security forces operating in the area.
