Two personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force’s jungle warfare unit CoBRA were killed after Naxalites blew up a truck with an improvised explosive device (IED) in Chhattisgah’s Sukma district on Sunday, police said.
An encounter between security forces and Naxalites has been underway since the afternoon in the forests of Amjhar and Muhkot villages in Dhamtari districts, Khallari police station area, according to Dhamtari SP Anjaneya Varshney. A Naxalite was killed in an encounter. Security personnel have also recovered weapons involved in the attack. The search operation is underway to find out the hiding Naxalites and weapons.
