Four members of a family, including an elderly woman, sustained injuries in a blast caused by an improvised handmade grenade inside a house in Gahluiya village of Pilibhit on Wednesday.
The incident occurred around 2 pm under the limits of Puranpur Kotwali police station. The police sealed off the affected area, and a forensic team was dispatched to collect evidence. According to ASP Vikram Dahiya, who inspected the site, discussions are underway with the explosive department in Bareilly to send experts to collect samples of the explosive material. Authorities are investigating whether the grenades were assembled by the victims themselves or obtained from external sources.
