Operating troops discovered an improvised explosive device (IED) cache in Barangay Dasawao, Shariff Saidona Mustapha, Maguindanao (SSM).
Maj. Gen. Diosdado Carreon, Joint Task Force Central commander, on Thursday said the Army troops discovered the cache while they were operating in the barangay (villages) of Pikit, North Cotabato and Dasawao,
SSM on Tuesday to track and locate a group of fleeing Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters following an encounter last February 7 in Barangay Manaulanan, Pikit. Carreon said recovered were two complete IED sets (with electrical detonators and blasting caps), one 81mm mortar shell unexploded ordnance.
