Four KDF soldiers injured after IED goes off on military van

Four Kenyan Defense Forces (KDF) soldiers were injured on Tuesday after an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) went off on a military van they were traveling in along the Somalia border.

The incident happened at 3 p.m. at the border point 4 in Mandera along the Kenya-Somalia border.

Kutwsa Olaka, Mandera county commissioner survived the IED as he was traveling in a separate vehicle in the convey with the KDF patrolling the border.

“I cannot link the incident to the al-Shabaab as we all know they have sympathizers living in our midst making it hard to conclude who attacked our convoy,” said Kutswa.
